Nude hiking demonstration in Freiburg: A successful sign for freedom and tolerance
Am June 7, 2026 found a peaceful place in Freiburg’s Sternwald forest. Demonstration nude hike The event took place on World Naturist Day. Around 100 participants – some naked, some clothed – walked a family-friendly, 2.5 km route through the forest. The registered demonstration sent a visible message for Self-determination, naturalness and tolerance versus nudity. The focus was on criticism of the arbitrary application of §118 OWiG, who may mistakenly classify simple nudity as a ‘public nuisance’.
The event was organized by Ulrich Thomas Wolfstädter (NUDARE AUDE), which has been advocating for the acceptance of nudity as a natural expression of life for years. The demonstration was a success: it showed that peaceful nudity is not a scandal, but a expression of personal freedom The event was accompanied by a supporting program including a shared meal and short hikes the day before.
